RCB Hires Paul Bruno as Chief Credit Officer

Reading, MA – Reading Cooperative Bank (RCB) has hired Paul Bruno for a new role within the organization as its Chief Credit Officer. In this role, Paul will work closely with the Bank’s Chief Lending Officer to manage the credit risk in its loan portfolios.

Paul has over 15 years of experience in banking, predominantly in the commercial credit field. Paul comes to RCB after spending several years as the Senior Vice President/Chief Lending Officer at Octant Business Services, LLC, where he focused on all commercial underwriting activities for twenty-nine Credit Unions throughout New England. Paul was instrumental in the development and updating of loan policy, procedures and underwriting guidelines coupled with several effective reporting and tracking tools for Executive Management and the Board of Directors. Before that, he was the Underwriting Manager/Credit Team Leader at TD Bank, N.A. and the Senior Portfolio Manager – Commercial Enterprise Banking at RBS Citizens, N.A. Paul graduated Cum Laude with a BBA degree in Finance & Operations Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

In addition to leadership of the Bank’s credit department, Paul will work to enhance the banks systems to provide products and services faster and in more streamlined fashion. Improving metrics and reporting will serve to maintain the bank’s asset quality, safety and soundness. His credit team is responsible for conducting credit analysis on commercial and business loans and provides administrative support for the bank’s commercial lenders.

Paul has successfully completed a formal credit training program, coupled with the completion of several RMA classes focused on credit risk management. He has been a small business lender and understands the struggle between business development and prudent risk management. Paul resides in Burlington, MA with his wife and three daughters. There, he is actively involved in youth soccer as a coach and board member. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and various outdoor activities.
