Reading Cooperative Bank Chosen as Best Community Bank of 2018 by The Readings Magazine

Reading, MA – The Readings Magazine has released its perennial “Best of” issue for 2018, and Reading Cooperative Bank (RCB) is, once again, ranked as the top community bank in the area. RCB has won the award for the second consecutive year. RCB has been a cooperative bank since 1886 and is in its 132nd year of operation. The Bank is a customer-owned entity without any private stockholders.

As RCB’s profitability continues to rise, so does its ability to do good. The Reading Cooperative Charitable Foundation grew out of RCB’s original cooperative roots; people joining together to meet the community’s financial needs. Today, the Foundation awards grants for causes like education, the arts, the environment, and fighting poverty.

“Engendering good faith within the locality is always a recipe for success”, stated Julie Thurlow, President & CEO of RCB. “We’re so thankful for our customers and their generosity. We'll continue to place the community first and hold true to our values as we have throughout our history.”

The spring edition of The Readings Magazine is out now, with the full “Best of the Readings” article and listings available here.
