Our Foundation

Reading Cooperative Charitable Foundation Logo

The Charitable Foundation is a natural outgrowth of RCB’s earliest roots: to enhance the quality of life in our community. The word “Cooperative” referred to local people joining together to meet the financial needs of their community; today the word still rings true as it describes RCB's philanthropic partnership with so many worthwhile community organizations.

This year, you voted to have the Foundation donate locally in these percentages.

Eligibility and Funding Criteria

The Charitable Foundation welcomes grant applications from non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations or public schools serving Andover, Burlington, North Reading, Reading or Wilmington. The Foundation will not fund political or sectarian activities. Grant requests are considered for program support, seed money, and capital improvements. Trustees review grant requests quarterly (on the first of February, May, August and November) and give special consideration to the factors outlined in the application, including the scope and impact of the project, as well as its target population.

Other Ways We Can Help

  • Free cases of RCB branded water bottles for your next fundraising event. Some charities resell the water to benefit the organization, others use it to hydrate their volunteers.
