Our Local Commitment

.

RCB helps create financially strong, sustainable, and vibrant communities – A tradition that is 130 years strong and growing

.

Financially Strong.
We keep your money safe and our lending practices sound. Safe means every dime on deposit at RCB is insured. Your balances up to $250,000 are insured through the FDIC, and every dollar over that is insured through SIF (the Share Insurance Fund of the Cooperative Central Bank). Sound lending means RCB consistently adheres to traditional lending guidelines, which means the Bank stays strong even through financial downturns. When the Bank stays strong, we can reinvest in the community, and the community stays strong.

.

Sustainable.
Our idea of complete banking includes contributing to the environmental health and well-being of the communities we serve. RCB uses less paper by offering Green Online accounts, eStatements, and online banking. We also launched an initiative to plant-a-tree in Reading's historic Memorial Park for every 10 customers who chose to receive paperless statements. We've been a Green Certified Business since 2010, and also received the Green Business Award from Reading's Climate Advisory Committee. We're always interested in finding new ways to be 'green.' Let us know what else you think we can do to help.

.

Vibrant.
The Reading Cooperative Charitable Foundation supports community activities in the Bank's market area to enhance the quality of life for its citizens. Recent funding from the Foundation has provided need-based scholarships for children's summer theater programs at Stoneham Theatre; expansion of the Winchester Hospital Emergency Room; children's entertainment at North Reading's Summer Concert and BBQ series; and peer training for an anti-bullying program at Reading Memorial High School.

.

"Profit and growth go hand-in-hand with responsible banking and service to the community."
