The Reading Cooperative Charitable Foundation
The Foundation proudly supports community activities in RCB's greater market area. The Foundation is a natural outgrowth of the Bank's earliest roots: to enhance the quality of life in its own community. When the bank was founded in 1886, the word "Cooperative" referred to local people joining together to meet the financial needs of their community; today the word still rings true as it describes RCB's philanthropic partnership with so many worthwhile community organizations.
.The Foundation awards grants to charitable, educational and civic projects and events that focus on disadvantaged or underserved citizens. Primary areas of commitment are workforce development, health and human service, housing, education, community development, the environment, and the arts. Grant requests are considered for program support, seed money, and capital improvements.
.Eligibility and Funding Criteria
The Charitable Foundation welcomes grant applications from non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations or public schools located in, or serving, the towns of Andover, Burlington, North Reading, Reading, Wilmington or Woburn.
