RCB Donates $500 to North Reading Veteran Services

Reading, MA – Reading Cooperative Bank (RCB) recently gave $500 to help support local veterans in the town of North Reading. The donation was accepted by the North Reading Veterans Department and Veterans Committee at their 8th annual dinner social, which took place on September 27th at Teresa’s in North Reading. The event was open to the public and served to honor the veterans and warriors who reside in the community. Some of the guest speakers included 1st Sgt. USMC Ret. John Bernard and US Army member, John Mixon. The event also featured the Lynn English High School Jr. ROTC Marine Corp Cadets, under the direction of Sgt. Major Ken Oswald and Captain Steve Castinetti.

“If there’s one thing we can all agree on, I think it’s supporting those who have served in the armed forces and made the ultimate sacrifice for their fellow countrymen,” said Mike Walbourne, North Reading Branch Manager. “RCB believes wholeheartedly in stepping up for the veterans who put their lives on the line in the name of freedom, which so many people take for granted these days.”

For more information on how to assist the North Reading Veterans Office, please contact 978-357-5212 or email nrvets@northreadingma.gov.
