Reading Co-operative Bank Makes $5,000 Gift to VNAME
WAKEFIELD, MA, June 8, 2011 --- Reading Co-operative Bank recently renewed its membership in the VNA of Middlesex-East’s Community Partner Program with a $5,000 gift. The Bank has been a community partner since 2005.
This annual gift represents the bank’s major sponsorship of the VNA of Middlesex-East Annual Golf Tournament and Auction. These events raise funds for the agency’s Sawtelle Family Hospice House located in Reading.
“The Bank has always valued the service provided by VNA of Middlesex-East to the community,” said Bank President Julieann Thurlow. “This year, however, I experienced firsthand the care and compassion provided by their hospice team at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House when a family member facing a terminal illness spent his last days at the House. Everyone involved with this beautiful facility - the nurses, the aides and the volunteers – delivered care with the upmost respect and sensitivity and expertly helped both our loved one and the family through this significant time. Our community is fortunate to have such a resource.”
“Our care is made possible by generous donors like the Reading Co-operative Bank. We are honored that they champion our cause and thankful for their generous financial support,” says VNA of Middlesex-East CEO Merry Beth Rucker.
VNA of Middlesex-East was founded in 1902 and provides home health and hospice care to communities north and west of Boston. It is recognized among the top 6% of homecare agencies nationwide for quality and performance by Outcomes Concept Systems.
This year Reading Co-operative Bank celebrates its 125th anniversary of responsible banking and service to the community. Bauer Financial, Inc. has honored them with the Five-Star Award for Excellence for nearly 20 years running. The bank has offices located in Reading, North Reading, Wilmington and Woburn.
